A non-invasive technology
for correcting
biomechanics
Why
AposHealth®?
Developed by orthopedic and sports medicine specialists, AposHealth® addresses biomechanical pathology by readjusting the load on the lower extremities, pelvis and spine using a footworn biomechanical device.
This non-invasive, drug-free program integrates with the patient’s regular routine and requires only one hour of daily use.
The patient is monitored throughout the course of the program and as the patient’s gait improves, the device is adjusted to stimulate temporary pain relief and continued gait improvement.
Why
AposHealth®?
Developed by orthopedic and sports medicine specialists, AposHealth® offers a new approach for the treatment and management of MSK conditions. AposHealth® treats knee osteoarthritis and other musculoskeletal pathologies by readjusting the pressure on the joints of the lower extremities, pelvis and spine.

How
AposHealth®
is different
AposHealth® works on biomechanical and neuromuscular levels. Using a patented, foot-worn device as part of a daily treatment program, AposHealth® is designed to address the underlying causes of pain by temporarily shifting pressure from affected areas.
The neuromuscular re-education of the muscles results in a healthier walking pattern, even when not actively wearing the device42.
Backed by clinical research
An independent double-blind randomized controlled study published in May 2020 by the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that 92% of the patients treated with AposHealth® reported more than a 30% reduction in pain while 83% reported more than a 50% reduction in pain42.
Dozens of other peer-reviewed publications support the science behind AposHealth® as well as its clinical effect.
FDA cleared
The AposHealth® foot-worn device is FDA-cleared for treating knee osteoarthritis, to help temporarily reduce knee pain and improve lower extremity function during activities of daily living. It is also a non-FDA cleared wellness device which can help patients live well with other musculoskeletal conditions such as chronic low back and hip pain.
How
AposHealth®
works
Using a personalized footworn device AposHealth® improves:
- Biomechanics – redistributing pressure away from the affected areas and temporarily reducing knee pain42
- Neuromuscular systems – re-educating the muscles45, and correcting the abnormal gait patterns, even when not actively wearing the device42
This dual-action process is what makes it possible to significantly improve gait.
AposHealth® is backed by clinical evidence, is easy to adhere to and is continuously monitored by a trained clinician.
Clinical proof
AposHealth® is clinically proven to improve gait measurements such as muscular control45 and coordination45, walking speed43 and single limb support which relates to balance43. And AposHealth® is non-invasive and safe42.
Ease of adherence
Just by putting on the shoes, patients can transform one hour of their normal, everyday routine into a gait improvement activity, thus encouraging compliance.
Continuous monitoring
The AposHealth® program is consistently monitored by specially trained clinicians in order to optimize results.Addressing the body’s neuromuscular needs
Most treatments ignore one of the most important aspects of joint function – the muscles. AposHealth® is clinically proven to increase walking speed43, step length43, muscular control45 and muscular coordination42.
As the patient walks, AposHealth® stimulates and trains the muscles, re-educating the body to adopt a healthier, less painful gait. This improved muscular control and coordination causes a “carry-over effect” so that the positive effects remain even when not wearing the shoes.
AposHealth® harnesses biomechanical and neuromuscular training to enhance joint stability, muscle proprioception and gait patterns via an effortless, at-home, cost-effective treatment program.
The system is backed with extensive scientific and clinical evidence, showing significant improvement to patients’ pain and function levels by wearing the device for only 30 to 60 minutes daily.

AposHealth® is available in the US and is covered by several leading insurers in locations such as New York, California, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
AposHealth® is non-surgical and non-pharmaceutical, FDA-cleared and CE registered for treatment of knee osteoarthritis. It combines pain reduction42 with improved function42 and muscular control of the joints45, all of which lead to an improvement in quality of life43.
AposHealth® is comprised of three integrated components: the AposHealth® device, activity that is performed during the patient’s normal daily routine and the AposHealth® clinical pathway. These are discussed in the next Q&A’s.
The treatment is based on performing simple daily activities with the AposHealth® device which is individually calibrated for each patient based on a thorough, initial clinical evaluation conducted by an AposHealth® trained clinician. The activity can take place anytime, at home or in the office, as part of one’s daily activities, according to patient preferences and subject to a detailed treatment plan provided by the clinician. AposHealth® therefore does not interrupt the patients’ daily routine. Patients are then regularly seen for follow-up appointments where they are re-assessed and monitored. The device’s calibration and the program plan may change based on the patient’s progress in order to increase the therapeutic effect.
According to a personalized program, patients use the device during daily indoor activities, making it possible for the improved muscular control to be instilled.
What stems from the above is that the device is a powerful driver of motor learning because it allows patients to perform thousands of repetitions of the improved pattern of neuromuscular control42, within the patient’s environment and during daily activities.
Examples of the effects of the device can be seen in this video.
