With His Back Pain Under Control George of the FDNY is Back in Action
George, an employee of the New York City Fire Department, struggled with lower back pain that impacted his ability to perform everyday tasks like climbing stairs and jogging. After trying various remedies with little success, he turned to Apos®. Through the Apos® program, George regained his flexibility, reduced his pain, and returned to his active lifestyle.
George’s Story
“My name is George. I’m a GHI member through my job at the Fire Department for New York City. It [the discomfort] was a pinch in my lower back, which was stopping me from doing some of my everyday tasks such as walking up and down the stairs.
“There was just a lot of pain. Running—something I love to do, jogging—those were things I couldn’t do on a normal basis. I tried stretching, doing a few yoga moves, and even hot and cold compresses, but it still wasn’t enough.
“With Apos®, it’s been pretty good. I’ve been using the shoe probably about two to three times a week. I know I’m getting more flexibility thanks to them, and going up and down the stairs and performing those everyday tasks has become a lot easier.
“It’s helped me get back to nearly 100% now. I can do the things I love to do the most—I can go back to work and perform my duties as expected. I can go into the gym, I can go into the park and jog as fast as I would normally jog. So, it’s helped me get back to myself.
“I definitely recommend it to other people who are experiencing pain—co-workers, friends. It’s helped me, so I’m sure it can help them. I would gladly recommend it.”
