The problem with walking abnormalities
Walking abnormalities can make simple activities such as walking, sitting and climbing stairs difficult and frustrating.
Without addressing them properly, the problems can tend to get worse, harming one’s posture and ability to carry oneself in a healthy way.
To compensate, the body can develop movement patters such as limping and shortened strides that can further exacerbate the problem.
The problem with knee, hip, ankle & lower back conditions
Living with pain is not easy. Neither is losing the ability to function normally. Conditions of the knee, lower-back, hip, and ankle, make simple activities such as walking, sitting and climbing stairs painful and frustrating.
Living with pain is not easy. Neither is losing the ability to function normally. Conditions of the knee, lower-back, hip, and ankle, make simple activities such as walking, sitting and climbing stairs painful and frustrating.
Without proper treatment, these conditions often tend to get worse, harming your posture and your ability to carry yourself in a healthy way.
To compensate, your body becomes dysfunctional, your muscles move in an abnormal fashion, your walking patterns become misaligned and the pressure on the affected joints increases, causing even more pain – a vicious cycle. Medications get involved. Surgery may already be on the cards. However, there is a way out…
How
AposHealth®
works
Using a personalized footworn device AposHealth® improves:
- Biomechanics – redistributing pressure away from the affected areas and temporarily reducing knee pain42
- Neuromuscular systems – retraining the muscles45, and correcting the abnormal gait patterns, even when not actively wearing the device42
This dual-action process is what makes it possible to significantly improve one’s gait (walking mechanics).

Quick facts about AposHealth®
The secret of joint pain
Most treatments ignore one of the most important aspects of joint function – the muscles. AposHealth® is clinically proven to increase walking speed43, step length43, muscular control45 and muscular coordination42.
Results of untreated pain
With or without intervention, people suffering from joint pain will often compensate by changing their movement patterns, which can cause injury and more joint pain.
Tailored to you
After your movement patterns have been identified, the AposHealth® trained clinician will calibrate a pair of AposHealth® shoes to fit your needs.
Addressing the body’s neuromuscular needs
As you walk, AposHealth® stimulates and trains your muscles, re-educating your body to adopt a healthier, less painful gait (walking mechanics). This improved muscular control and coordination causes a “carry-over effect” so that the positive effects remain even when not wearing the shoes.
Clinical proof
Clinical studies on AposHealth® have shown a significant increase in walking speed and mobility, muscle coordination, muscle control, and temporary knee pain relief.
Patient satisfaction
Out of 176 patients with knee osteoarthritis surveyed, ninety-eight percent said they would recommend AposHealth® to friends and family1.
Convenience
Rather than adjusting your life to therapy, AposHealth® fits into your life. AposHealth® transforms your ordinary activities into a positive and easy process.
Effortlessness
By wearing the AposHealth® footworn device for about one hour per day-sometimes sitting, sometimes standing-your body learns to maintain better movement patterns while you go about your regular routine.
Ongoing care
With AposHealth®, your progress is closely monitored and—in order to optimize your ongoing progress—your shoes may be re-calibrated and your program instructions modified.
Insurance Coverage
Many leading insurance providers cover AposHealth®.

How
AposHealth®
is unique
AposHealth® helps people with knee, lower back and hip pain live well by improving their gait42 (walking mechanics) and quality of life43. This is done by:
- Redistributing the weight on the painful areas
- Re-educating the muscles, and ultimately correcting the walking patterns
This dual-action process is what makes it possible to improve function and live better with painful conditions without invasive procedures.
Clinically proven results
A 2020 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that 92% of patients with knee osteoarthritis who were treated with AposHealth® reported more than a 30% reduction in pain while 83% reported more than a 50% reduction in pain42.
Clinical studies have also shown improvement in function42 and quality of life24,43, as well as a significant reduction in pain medication use among patients with chronic knee pain3. According to a patient satisfaction survey, 98% of patients said that they would recommend AposHealth® to friends and family1.
